Is it just me or are Millie and Moxxie meant to be a reversal of gender roles? Moxxie is portrayed as mild mannered, insecure and sensitive. He also has stereotypically feminine hobbies such as cooking, crafting and singing. And then there is his fearless hot headed axe wielding wife that always comes in to save him. Kinda makes me think of the strong girl weak guy dynamic in a way. I wish they didn't turn Moxxie into such a whimp but what you gonna do with that.

Why do we need a positive male role model in an adult cartoon? Actually Moxxie is probably the nicest and most moral out of the group

At least he ain't henpecked.
In a way that kind of signifies that either Vivzie didn't intend to rely on double standards to portray a healthy relationship, or Millie simply opts for that sweetheart dynamic because she never had a reason to hurt Moxxie, pet alone force him to do something that will ruin them. As indicated by the Vivzie-verse, even Demons have a conscience.
Or maybe Moxxie has a hidden side even Blitzø has no way of knowing. But that's all just my opinion.

Moxxie is a fun character, and he still has development, Blitzo is a fun character, and he still has development, Stolas is a fun character, and he still has development.
See where am I going?

There is no denial. Richard Steven Horvitz has this feminine kinda high pitched voice that is just perfect for sensitive soft boys. I'm surprised he doesn't get casted as these kind of characters more often. He seems to be typecasted as characters that either stupid or crazy from what I noticed.

It's a rejection of the concept of gender roles rather than a reversal. Specifically, rejecting the ideas that masculinity can't ever be vulnerable and femininity can never be strong. Both characters still exhibit traditionally masculine and feminine tendencies/behaviors but aren't limited by gender.

So what does Moxxie do that’s “masculine?”

It might be purely because hell is where sh*t gets reversed, but the irony is that if Earth is hell in the story, would that make their human forms switch over in their personality?

I don't understand this "controversy" over Millie having no character. She's a rough and tough farm girl who has found someone that she can emotionally connect with and protect with all her heart. Slightly cynical but also very optimistic with her friends/work colleagues. While yes a lot of her character revolves around moxxie, there are people like that who do dedicate themselves to their significant other sacrificing a bit of their own individuality.
Also the majority of the episodes are mildly episodic action comedies with only a slight minority of episodes dedicated to character development.
>Pilot: Action comedy
>Ep1: Action comedy
>Ep2: Mostly comedic, has stolas character stuff
>Ep3: Action comedy
>Ep4: Action comedy
>Ep5: Slight drama, mostly action comedy
>Ep6: Character focused episode with action, little comedy
>Ep7: Another character focused episode
>Ep9 (Since EP 8 is still not out): Character development flashback
>Ep10: Action comedy
>Ep11: Slight character development, mostly action comedy- Anonymous
