It includes total cost incurred towards construction of rooms and money spent towards purchasing different materials which can be used in permanent along with production cost. On average we can take 9 crops in a year as the cultivation of oyster mushrooms is not possible during summer months. So, the production cost of each crop is Rs. 7, 500 as we are growing 9 crops in a year. Production costs in a year will be Rs. 7500 × 9 = 67, 500.

Hence, the total cost of cultivation is = Rs. 40, 300 + Rs. 67, 500 = Rs. 1, 07, 800

So, the total cost of production of oyster cultivation in a year is Rs. 1, 07, 800

Total income from Mushroom cultivation

One kilogram of oyster mushroom fetches Rs. 120 in the market averagely. So, if we consider 500-kilo grams as average yield per crop for 9 crops it will be 9 x 500 = 4, 500. In this way for selling 4, 500-kilo grams of oyster mushrooms farmers will get Rs.5, 40, 000.

4, 500 x 120 = Rs.5, 40, 000

Hence, the farmer will get gross returns of Rs. 5, 40, 000 in a year by cultivating oyster mushrooms in 2 rooms which are in size of 10 x 10 feet.

Net profit involved in oyster mushroom cultivation

It can be obtained by subtracting the total cost of production from gross returns

Rs. 5, 40, 000 – Rs. 1, 07, 800 = Rs. 4, 32, 200
