Are Khan Academy SAT tests easier than the actual exam? No, the SAT practice tests from Khan Academy are not easier than the actual exam. In fact, since the Khan Academy practice test is actually from the College Board, it is a realistic representation of the real SAT.

What the Experts Say. Most experts agree that students should spend approximately 5 to 20 hours each week for about three months studying for the SAT. The total number of hours is greatly dependent on each student's individual goals.

With Khan Academy, students don't experience the nuances and complexities of a classroom environment. They don't receive feedback from the teacher or fellow students, nor do they get any personalized guidance. Another issue with Khan Academy is that it often does not align with the curriculum of a given school.

While this means the Official SAT Prep product from Khan Academy has been deprecated, Khan Academy is still the official partner of College Board and is here to provide you with redesigned tools to prepare students for success on the digital SAT.

To get the most accurate feel for the real SAT, I recommend using the official SAT practice tests provided by the College Board. They currently offer eight full-length practice tests which closely resemble the actual exam.

While a 1500 SAT score is generally considered competitive, it's worth noting that the middle 50% range for SAT scores at most Ivies tends to be between 1450 and 1550, with some variability among the schools.

According to the College Board, most students improve their scores significantly when they retake the test, but the score gains are smaller for each successive test. So, while you can take the SAT as many times as you want, it may not be worth it to retake the test more than three or four times.

The writing and language section of the SAT is considered the easiest because it's what students have the most experience with through school. It is difficult to study for, so students often improve their scores through practice alone. It is also the shortest section of the exam!

If you've taken the SAT/ACT once or twice but still want to raise your score, a prep class will be an excellent option for you. In general, it's best to choose a test date that's at least two months before your college applications are due.
