Christmas cookies for dogs recipe [Updated Guide] (2024)

Christmas is almost here and one of my favorite Christmas traditions is baking Christmas cookies with my family and decorating them, so this year I thought I’d share a recipe for Christmas cookies for dogs in case you’d like to include your furry family members in this holiday tradition. This is an easy recipe to make. The first thing that you’re going to do is preheat your oven to 300 degrees and back here you’ll see that I have a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. We’re going to set that aside and then we’re going to go ahead and make the dough.

I’m going to combine all of my ingredients, so I have three quarters of a cup of unbleached flour, half a cup of sweet potatoes, which you can mash ahead of time if you want, and a quarter of a cup of quick oats, which I’m going to mash as I mix everything together. I like to use raw honey, not that processed stuff you buy in the store, and a little bear bottle. Raw honey has a lot of great nutritional benefits for dogs, and they love the taste, so it’s a win-win.

• It helps with everything from allergies to brain development to dry, itchy skin.
• I also added my one egg, as you can see, and that’s it.
• We’re just going to mix this together until it forms a nice dough.

Now that I have my dough, I’m just going to flour my workspace here, get my dough out, and we’re going to roll it flat. You want it to be about a quarter of an inch thick.

I have this dog bone shape, but I also have some Christmas shaped cookie cutters, and since these are Christmas cookies for dogs, I’m going to make some gingerbread people, some Christmas trees, and some stockings. Once you get your cookies cut, you’re going to put them on your parchment paper lined cookie sheet, and you’re going to bake them in your 300 degree oven for 25 minutes. If you roll them a little bit thicker, they’re still going to be a little moist and chewy, so you might want to just stick them in there for an extra five or ten minutes if you think they aren’t quite done yet.
